Good Morning! John here and welcome another Monday Motivator! Hope you enjoy it and remember to leave a comment in the comment form below and share this post with a friend!
Wow, September is already upon us. I know for those of you with kids, it’s time to get back to a solid exercise routine. For those that don’t it’s time to hone in on good habits to prepare for all the holidays that are right around the corner.
And now a neat quote by Helen Keller to prepare your fitness mindset. Helen says this:
“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow.”
In other words, always maintain a PMA!!! Positive Mental Attitude! How can you accomplish this you ask? Here are some ideas to get you started.
1) Do you have your goals listed out?
I’ve got both personal and professional goals that I can see on a daily basis to get me pumped and to keep things in the forefront of my mind. Are there some weeks where I’m not on 100%? Sure, but I’m always pushing myself making sure that I am progressing towards my goals. For example, right now I’m training for the San Jose Rock n Roll Half Marathon and one of my fitness goals is to complete a minimum of 2-3 runs per week. 1 speed day, 1 long run and a possible shorter in between. So take the time to write out your fitness goals and times to completion, small, micro goals to help get you there as well as what rewards you will give yourself for succeeding!
2) Do you have daily affirmations?
Ok, ok, I know what you’re thinking….John when did you and Tony Robbins start hanging out so much?! Well the truth is, they work! I have a digital recorder in my car and listen to my affirmations every morning!
So list out 3-5 daily affirmations you can repeat aloud to yourself on a daily basis and remember to repeat each one at least 5 times. If you do this daily, nothing will stop you. Here’s a couple to help get you started.
- I am 100% confident that I can reach my fitness goals and achieve the body I want.
- I love my body and I am filled with self-confidence and self-esteem.
- I will exercise 5 times per week with no excuses.
3) Who’s in your corner?
Solid support structures are vital to the achievement of any goal. Your personal trainer (me , family, friends and co-workers all need to be on the same page if you are going to be 100% successful. Are there any people in your life right now that are holding you back or keeping you down? If so, you need to cut them. I know it can be difficult but YOU are the most important part of this equation and you have to remember that.
Start implementing the things I listed above and email me your results! I’d love to help and hold you accountable in any way I can so that you can reap the benefits and enjoy the sweet flavor of success.
Have a terrific start to your week!
Dedicated to your success,
